Marfa by Car From Austin, Texas At the U.S. 290 juncture, take the I-10 West U.S. Interstate to exit #248 (228 miles) . At Exit #248 go towards U.S. 67 South/FM. 1776 to Alpine, Texas. Turn left on FM 1776 (becomes U.S. 67) to Alpine (55 miles). U.S. 67 becomes East Avenue E, continue west through Alpine (East Avenue E becomes West, Avenue E) At the edge of town Avenue E becomes U.S. 90, continue 25 miles to Marfa. At juncture of U.S. 87 take I-10 U.S. Interstate West to exit #248 (294 miles). At Exit #248 go towards U.S. 67 South/FM. 1776 to Alpine, Texas. Turn left on FM 1776 (becomes U.S. 67) to Alpine (55 miles) U.S. 67 becomes East Avenue E, continue west through Alpine ( East Avenue E becomes West, Avenue E). At the edge of town, Avenue E becomes U.S. 90, continue 25 miles to Marfa. Start at where U.S. Interstate I-30 West becomes I-20 West. Travel 380 miles to Exit 39 (on I-20) toward TX-17, Balmorhea/Fort Davis. Continue through the town on Balmorhea, on the edge of town turn south to Fort Davis (still on TX-17), through Fort Davis on TX. 17, travel to Marfa, 25 miles south. From Midland, Texas Take U.S. Interstate I-20 West , travel 86 miles to exit #39, TX.-17 to Balmorhea/ Fort Davis, travel 30 miles to Balmorhea Continue through the town on Balmorhea, on the edge of town turn south to Fort Davis (still on TX-17), Through Fort Davis on TX. 17, travel to Marfa, 25 miles south.
